Jalaini Abu Hassan or Jai has been actively producing art work for the Malaysian scene while pursuing his doctorate degree at UiTM. His most recent solo show was at the prestigious and renowned Tyler Rollins Fine Art Gallery in New York at the Bangsawan Kebangsaan show. He also recently held a solo show entitled ‘Dendongeng’ at the Valentine Willie Fine Art in Kuala Lumpur where also had the ‘Bisik Menjerit’ solo show a year before. Apart from that, Jai had also showcased his works at the Borobudur Auction Building in Jakarta and Gallerie Taksu in Kuala Lumpur. On top of that, he has also held solo shows in other countries include the Barbara Greene Fine Art in New York and at Sunjin Gallery in Singapore.

Jai’s involvement in fine arts have also been seen in various group shows like the “Figure in Paint: Contemporary Watercolor” show held at the Galeri Petronas in Kuala Lumpur, the “WORK” show at  Rogue Art. Other notable group shows include the ‘Headlights’ show organized by Valentine Willie Fine Art in Singapore and Malaysia, the ‘Radio and Art’ show by the National Art Gallery while he was also involved in the “Art Singapore 2004” in Suntec City and Convention Centre in Singapore. His awards include wining the Rado Switzerland Commission Award as well as the first prize in drawing at the Murray Hill Art Competition in New York in 1994.
